Love was in the air when Lanier and Sam first met. The love belonged to their best friends at their wedding when Lanier and Sam were in the same bridal party. They were never officially introduced but caught each others’ eye. After one dance together they knew they needed to be a part of each others’ lives. Over the next few weeks the couple got to know one another through Skype and within in one month they knew it was love and that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

A surprise of a lifetime awaited Lanier when she went to go visit Sam in India for the first time. Sam took Lanier to Ooty, a city up in the mountains of India. They found a spot at the botanical gardens and started talking about their relationship and the future. Sam then got down on one knee and asked Lanier to marry him. She was completely surprised!

Lanier and Sam decided to get married at Nature Point because of its unique and beautiful mountain location. They thought it would be wonderful to get married at and a unique venue for their family and friends to experience. But mother nature had another plan and the wedding location had to be changed three hours before the ceremony. With the help of their wedding planner, Maria, they found the Crowne Plaza and the wedding came together despite all the last minute changes.

Even with all the chaos, Lanier and Sam loved their day and that they were able to get married among the rapid changes that occurred before the ceremony. They loved that several of Sam’s family members were able to fly in from India and England. They were also able to fly in their pastor, from Maryland, who officiated the wedding and who knew the couple very well when they both lived in Maryland. Personal touches for the wedding included decorations from India and Lanier and her dad making the placement card holders, that also served as the wedding favors.

Looking ahead, Lanier and Sam hope to still be living in Albuquerque with one or two kids. They hope that their love for each other will be stronger than the day they got married, their faith will be stronger and that they are involved with their local church.

Shannyn: How was working with Adam?

Lanier and Sam: We were looking for a videographer when we came across Adam on Wedding Wire and we fell in love with his work. From the time we met with him on Skype he was genuinely interested in us as a couple. He connected with us on a spiritual level and prayed for us and our marriage. At the wedding he had a positive attitude, went with the flow and was very encouraging to us during our hurdle of changing venues. Adam also came out a day early (a good thing because of the weather); he also came to our rehearsal and was able to capture some special moments at our original venue site and in our Indian attire. I am very grateful he came to Nature Pointe because we loved that place and it was very sad to have to change the venue; but knowing Adam captured some special moments including us practicing our first dance there will be something we will enjoy watching for a long time. I would certainly recommend him to other brides!!! Adam is great!
