With the nickname of “My Kind of Town,” Chicago became Lindsey and Jamie’s kind of town when they met and fell in love there. After a year and half of dating, Jamie decided that it was time to propose to Lindsey.
Lindsey and Jamie grew up skiing in Vail, so what better place to propose? After a long day of skiing, Lindsey and Jamie found themselves on the top of Vail Mountain at The Tenth Restaurant. Every detail was planned out with a special table with champagne and a “tour of the property.” The tour led them to a snowcat that took them to a table outside overlooking the Gore Range and once again Lindsey was met with a table with champagne and roses. Lindsey wasn’t catching on to what was happening until Jamie got down on one knee – in his ski clothes – and proposed.
Wedding bells rang a few days after Lindsey and Jamie’s three year anniversary from when they met in Chicago. Vail was not only their proposal spot but also the place where they said “I do.” The bridal party was treated to a hike up Vail Mountain to the top of Eagle’s Nest where they had lunch and drinks. Lindsey and Jamie loved getting ready with their best friends, watching their parents open their special gifts, walking down the aisle, and taking photos on top of the mountain just the two of them. Their day would not have been the same without their loved ones gathered around and a packed dance floor that went late into the night.
After the wedding, Lindsey and Jamie went to Aspen and spent a few days at the Little Nell where they hiked and did some biking. They also took a honeymoon to South Africa where they did a safari in the Madikwe Reserve. The safari included lions, elephants, giraffes, baboons, and zebras. They spent some time in Cape Town, the Winelands, and ended their trip in the Maldives. It was a dream vacation and they were able to check off a lot of items from their bucket list.
Lindsey and Jamie will begin their new lives together in Chicago and will be expecting their first child.
