Lindsey and Jonathan’s fairytale started when they met at Opportunity Camp Como, where Jonathan was working as program director. Jonathan put his life in the hands of some of the camp kids and let them shave his head on the last day…the haircut did not turn out as well as he hoped it would. It was clear that Jonathan needed some help with his hair and found out that Lindsey was a hairstylist and he asked her if she would be able to help his hair out. Once the hair was fixed, Jonathan asked her to dinner. During the time of the camp some of the staff had been trying to set up Lindsey and Jonathan and little did they know that a bad hair cut would lead to Lindsey and Jonathan dating for two and half years and a proposal on September 27th, 2013.

Jonathan led Lindsey, who was blindfolded, down to the docks at his parents’ lake house. When they reached the bottom, Jonathan removed the blindfold and lights surrounded them. There were candles floating in the water and white lights hanging all around. Lindsey, oblivious to what was happening, stood there and then Jonathan began praying over her. At the end of his prayer, he got down on one knee and popped the question…she said YES! After she said yes, her parents and grandma came out and surprised her.

Lindsey and Jonathan’s entered into their engagement with a prayer so it was only fitting that they enter into their marriage with prayer. One of their favorite parts of their special day was the time they had praying with each other before the wedding ceremony. They both stood behind a wall and their hands met where the wall became one and they shared an intimate moment of prayer with each other. They loved the time that they had getting ready with the bridal party and having people celebrate with them who they hadn’t seen in a while. A favorite moment for Jonathan was seeing his beautiful bride walk down the aisle. Some of the unique aspects of their big day was praying with each other before the wedding, being anointed with oil during the ceremony, and having pictures taken in the snow with their bridal party. With family and friends gathered around them, Lindsey and Jonathan celebrated into the night and began life as a married couple.

In the next five years, they see themselves with kids, Lindsey continuing to cut hair and serving with Crosscouncil Ministries while Jonathan continues to work with B.U.R.N Ministries and working on developing his second snow cone stand.

Shannyn: How was your experience working with Adam?

Lindsey and Jonathan: Working with Adam was great. He was fun to work with and we felt very comfortable with him. We appreciated his willingness to shoot pictures for us on top of the video. We would highly recommend him for both photography and videography.
