Mary and Darin started off as friends by working together as accountants. After being friends for a couple of years, Darin worked up the courage to ask Mary out on a date. In November 2012, Mary and Darin went on their first official first date to see a Matt and Kim concert at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver. At the time, Darin was living in Las Vegas while Mary was working at the company headquarters in Denver. She was able to convince him to quit his job and move back to Colorado and live with her.

Mary and Darin decided to buy a  house in July 2013. In between closing on their house and moving in, Mary and Darin were staying at the Embassy Suites. When Mary got home from work she had the best welcome home gift that a girl could ask for. Darin had filled the room with flowers and candles and read Mary a poem before he asked her to be his wife.

Skip ahead four months and Mary and Darin are preparing to say, “I do” at the Artwork Network. Mary and Darin were looking for a unique wedding location when Mary stumbled upon the Artwork Network venue  on Yelp. When Mary first saw the location she knew that Darin would love it…And he did!

Before the wedding ceremony, Mary and Darin were taking pictures outside when two girls walking near the venue saw  them and sparked up conversation. Once the girls were done talking to Mary about how exciting it was to see a bride, they decided to go home and get dressed up. Not understanding that weddings weren’t open to the public, they showed up to the wedding venue right before the ceremony. At the time, not knowing exactly what to do, Mary and Darin decided to let them stay. However, during the ceremony as Darin was reading his vows the “wedding crashers” walked up the main aisle to take some pictures of their own. Unfortunately the girls ended up being escorted out by security but remained a fun topic of conversation at the reception. Realizing you never know what unexpected event will happen at your wedding, Mary and Darin laugh at knowing they had their own wedding crashers!

After the wedding ceremony Mary and Darin were able to share a private dinner downstairs and take in the moment of just the two of them, with no guests and no wedding crashers. Additionally, to start out the reception, the couple had a surprise for their guests, that brought Darin’s dad to tears. Mary and Darin had secretly been taking dance lessons and surprised them with a choreographed rumba done to “and I love her” by the Beatles. Another special touch to the wedding, was a photo station set up so as the wedding guests came through the buffet line the guests were able to take a picture with Mary and Darin.

Looking down the road ahead, Mary and Darin hope to start a family, as well as continue their traveling adventures by visiting one new country every year.

Mary had decided that she wanted a videographer to capture all the big moments of her day so that she and Darin could watch it again with family and friends.

Shannyn: How was working with Adam?

Mary: Working with Adam was great, we met a few times before the wedding he seemed very passionate about what he was doing and you could tell he genuinely cared about providing a quality product that replicated and portrayed the story he was filming.  I’m excited to hear that he’s going full time with his videography.

The wedding was shot for Mary + Darin by Brooke Trexler. You can see her full photography blog post by clicking here. And here are a few of Mary + Darin’s favorite from the day:
